I am missing my first South African nationals ever this weekend, which is really sad since I have played in every Nationals we have ever had down here. Poker money > Boosters I suppose. Looks like I am picking it up as a side game again since some of my friends are keen on playing Magic again post-WOW.

South African nationals is like 8 people and a rhino....and usually the rhino misses T8 on tiebreakers.

I used to play. Used to be "ok". Am currently very bad, will play Dutch nationals though, and will lose enough rating so I won't be qualified for nats next year. That, or qualify for worlds.

It's really funny how everyone transfers over to poker. Pokers kinda like magic for adults

A good friend of mine's good friend co-founded Wizards of the Coast up in Seattle, the parent company of MTG.

I don't think he had a hand in the actual development of the game, but it's worth mentioning that years earlier he paid his way through college playing limit hold 'em.

Suffice it to say he had a LOT of money.

Haven't played in a year or so, but used to top8 PTQs, nothing impressive. Did get first ranking in constructed in my state (LA, so it doesn't really count).

FYP to fit me.

Achievements would be something like:
Played in PT Boston like 5 years ago
Top 8 nationals
Top 16 at european championship when it was in Amsterdam, fun tourney. In 2 drafts I had somthing like 5 Butchers, 2 cripling, 2 Afflict (not sure that is the name -1/-1 draw a card), A sengir and other v. good stuff.
In the second last round I played for Top 8, and obviously I double muligganed both games :-(
