Re: Does anyone ever really win these things?
[ QUOTE ]
I once won an "official" NBA basketball from a gatorade I bought. I sent in the cap, and they sent me an "official" b-ball. That's pretty much the only thing I ever won like that, though. Edit: Nice waste of my 1000th post, too. [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: Does anyone ever really win these things?
My father has won several flights, a set of soccer jerseys, etc. He used to enter contests as a hobby. He subscribed to a magazine listing tons of diff sweepstakes. He also spent hundreds in postage stamps.

Re: Does anyone ever really win these things?
I sent in postcard with my name/address to a trading card company for a free entry for a set of limited edition basketball cards, and beat the odds to receive one. I think the listed odds were somewhere in the 1:100's.
Out of curiousity, theoretically, do you think it is possible to be a "professional contest enterer?" There are so many promotions out there that don't charge anything to enter, do you think it would be possible (assuming you could sell whatever you won, and that you would stick to your general geographic area to cut down on travel costs) to live off contest winnings? discuss. tc ps - long time lurker in OOT - love it. |
