Shawn Green also for the OP's #1.

Edit: Jim Thome too I think?

[/ QUOTE ]

Both are right. They posted this when Thome bat against Toronto and they said him and McGwire were the only two. Well done in doing better than the Skydome fact checking team.

Other who are close,
Carlos Delgado might get it this year
Vladmir Guerrero hit 39 in 04 with Ana
Sexson 39 in 05 with Seattle.
Soriano 39 with the Yankees, and it looks like he will get 40 this year
Glaus 37 in 05 with Arizona.
Griffey 37 NL

Hard to believe Frank Robinson isn't on the 40 HR list.

Jim Edmonds is a possibility for #2 as well

[/ QUOTE ]

[ QUOTE ]
Edmonds never hit 40 in California.

[/ QUOTE ]

good reading comprehension.

Jim Kaat is another answer for #2 (the one about gold gloves, not home runs)

Kaat is right.
That leaves two more
Although Orlando Hudson will probably expand the list at the end of this year.

Vlad is terribly overrated defensively. Arm strength alone does not equal good fielder.
