Bob Schneider, Matt Wertz.

Specifically:

Bob Schneider - Big Blue Sea (acoustic) and cover of Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Matt Wertz - Counting to 100

Also, Jack Johnson is not "ok." He is awesome

Edit: Also, Ari Hest is very good.

Patty Griffin's "Living With Ghosts" is one of the best acoustic albums I have ever heard. If you like stuff like Diamen Rice, I suggest you check her out.

Michael Franti put out a great acoustic album called "Songs from the Back Porch." Great albumn.

pryor,

Ryan Adams - For some reason I forgot to mention him in my OP. I like and listen to a lot of his stuff regularly (especially the Love is Hell EPs).

The Eels - I've heard a few songs and wasn't too impressed.

Bill Ricchini - I'm listening to some songs of his right now and their a bit more pop/uptempo then what I'd like.

Alexi Murdoch - All I've heard is Orange Sky and it didn't strike me as in any way noteworthy.

try "Suicide Life" and "Railroad Man"...he's not for everyone, though.

i'll bet you're listening to his new one. check out "Ordinary Time", especially "What You Wanted", "With Grenades", and "A Mountain, A Peak"

he's stunning live. His new album is pretty good, esp. "All of My Days", "Love You More", and a couple of others.

i also forgot to mention Ray LaMontagne and Amos Lee

pryor,

Well I decided to get Time Without Consequence by Alexi Murdoch. I must say I'm positively surprised. It's definitely gotten better with each successive listen.

he's one of those guys that if i hadn't seen him live, i don't know that i would have been as much on the bandwagon. the EP didn't really showcase just how good he is. i'm glad you like it.

I feel like I should mention Ben Harper, although everyone has likely heard of him. Donavon Frankenreiter is very good too.
