Re: Happy to get it in here, or a hand to get away from?
[ QUOTE ]
what exactly are sklansky bucks? [/ QUOTE ] David Sklansky author of The Theory of Poker and Hold'Em Poker for Advanced Players (both dull but important books) would advocate a push here because it seems to have the greatest +EV. Sklansky bucks are a form of "making the right play all the time for +EV" (ie TOP/FTO) imaginary currency which when built up over time begins to effect your bankroll in a positive way. Therefore, in the end, a Sklansky buck earned, is a real buck saved (it just takes 10K hands to cash them in). |

[ QUOTE ] smooth, the other reason to push now is to protect your hand vs a FD [/ QUOTE ] The fd is very obvious. What... I am not sure how to respond....This was factored in a long time ago. [/ QUOTE ] I don't get your point. You said the flush draw was factored in long ago, but then when you said that the reason you think pushing is more +EV than calling, was b/c of stack sizes. You didn't mention protecting your hand at all. Of cource its obvious one or both of them might well have a FD, but you haven't (that I can see) factored that into you decision making at all. If you decide that flop is a call or push, and that you're basically getting it in on any non-diamond turn, then surely its best to push flop not b/c of stack sizes, but b/c every time we just call flop and a diamond hits on the turn, we've just lost hte pot, and made a big FTOP error as well. |
