I have played a fair amount of Step 5's qith him, and can confidently say that his game is not suited to SNG style of play. Both he and his students are completely incapable of folding AKo under ANY circumstances preflop.

What was/is his SN?

Tony G is *the* most annoying poker player on the face of the earth.

Nice work d00d.

I played in some live sngs with him 2 years ago and chatted with him for at least half an hour afterward. My impression of him is that he is an extremely good player and also a nice guy, totally unlike his TV image.

Do you think maybe he played a lot tighter then normal during the tourney in order to stay close to his students? This of course doesn't say much for his HU play, but is logical if his main goal was teaching students not winning this satellite.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is exactly what I was thinking.

Durron's HU play looks pretty impressive when you consider the fact Tony was probably trying hard to win HU. Either that or Durron's just a huge luckbox

[/ QUOTE ]

A huge luckbox? The only hand that went to showdown HU was after I took 2/3 of his chips without showdown and then he reraised me preflop with no fold equity with J9o.
