For the Steelers:

Bettis will probably retire. Let Staley go. I'm not sure how much Staley has left and he is taking up too much salary. Parker/Haynes can get the job done but draft a couple young running backs late to compete. Get a stud cornerback. Continue to add depth to the offensive/defensive lines.

Apparantly there's a bunch of highly rated DE's in the draft. Have to take one of them who can rush the QB.
Pick all OLmen the rest of the draft.

I don't know what to do about coach? Haslett/Jauron/Sherman? Yikes, I think I'd rather have Fassel than any of them.

Texans:
option a: draft vince and kordell him in year 1. draft OLine and sign a FA veteran left tackle. negotiate carr's roster bonus downward or cut him if he's not reasonable. maybe even pay the $8MM if its fairmarket. trade Carr or Vince year 2 based on how far Vince has come. dont resign gary walker. he cant stay out of the trainer.

option b: draft bush and watch bush and carr get pounded for two more years while we build a O-line. win a super bowl in 4 years and have both carr and bush retire shortly thereafter due to the pounding they've taken in the early years.

Jets

J-E-T-S Just End The Season) ~ yes I'm already talking about the 2006 season. We need just about everything, so here goes (no particular order of priority):

- Running Back (Martin isn't getting any younger and hell he might even be cut now that Edwards is out & Mangini is in).

- Offensive Line (need to get younger here big time).

- Defensive Line (both DE & DT; Given the cap situation franchising Abraham might not happen. Trading Abraham for some players and/or picks is a distinct possibility. Reed isnt a starter so we need a DT who can start and stop the run. I miss Ferguson.)

- Wide Receiver (Coles is good. McCareins stinks. Cotchery is a #3 only on his best days).

- Cornerback (Law is probably gone. Miller did start to play well towards the end of last year but with Law out we probably need help at corner. Straight should be able to come in as a nickel).

- I want to say TE, but I'd rather not burn any picks on this position and hope that Baker can come back from his injury and Jolley figures out a way to not suck complete ass.)

- Quarterback (Drafting a QB depends tremendously on any improvement Pennington can show before April).

- Linebacker (One position we are decently strong at. Vilma is nasty. Although picking up a LB might not be a bad idea as Barton is a ? mark & Mangini might want to run a 3-4 which I think is a terrible idea given how good Vilma is)

Texans:

1) Hire a head coach (Kubiak)
2) Put the franchise tag on David Carr.
3) Draft Vince Young.
4) Draft some o-line help.
5) Improve the secondary and the o-line through free agency.

Chargers:

Heal Drew Brees

Get a secondary who doesn't get burned every game

Teach Marty not to play Martyball

Trade Rivers for some high draft picks (of course, assuming Brees heals)

Sign veteran backup QB to replace Rivers.

One more stud lineman on both sides of the ball always helps too.

For the Packers:

Draft: A.J. Hawk, Owen Daniels, Eric Henderson, Brodie Coyle and some late round guards and a running back.

Get the coaching staff in place and the system worked put in place.

Figure out our QB situation. If Favre is coming back send Rodgers to NFL Europe where he can actually play. If Favre is retiring, open up the starting job to Rodgers and Nall and decide soon into training camp so they can work with the recievers.

Try to trade Bubba Franks for anything.

Maybe look at another punter although I hate the idea that we'd already be giving up on the bum that we traded up to get when we didn't need to.

Pray that our new defensive coordinator is half as good as Bates. Then kick ourselves for not hiring Bates for head coach.

I hear Bates is probably going to follow Sherman wherever he goes.
What do you think about Sherman? From what I've seen of him, he:
A) goes for it on 4th&short in FG range up by 14 in the 4th Qtr when a FG can ice the game (Vikings game last year)
B) punts on 4th & short in opponent's territory when a 1st down can clinch the game and Ahman Green has 200 yards rushing (Eagles playoff game).

Other than that he seems ok. Is it fair to say he's good at most things except gametime decisions kinda like Herm Edwards?
