Very nice post. You outline 5 fundamental poker truths. In order to become a succesful player, one must truly understand each thing. Ironically, this understanding can't be gained by just reading this post, but the same thing is true for all basic truths in life. True understanding comes through experience and reflection, and this post helps with both.

From late 2002 to mid 2004, I 5 tabled 9 max $100 and $200 NL for ~30 hours per week, for ~$35ph. That was my only source of income. God I was stupid.

This is true, and this is what I was thinking at the time. I didn't play 6 max, even though it came out on Party about 6 months into this. I didn't have rakeback. I never moved up. In short, didn't realise that whilst $35ph is good, it's possible to make a lot, lot more. I was probably the best player at that stake at the time, and didn't ever do much with it. Ho hum.
