Where is this?
If they play mostly hip-hop it's probably because that's what white college kids listen to these days, or at least what their women dance to when they go out. NT |

What pisses me off is that they can play music by Lil Jon, yet they wouldn't let Lil Jon in the club because his shirt is too long. Raaaaaaaacist! |

BTW... In the last 2 years I've been to this club WEAPONS HAVE NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE, I've never even seen a fight there. It's a very chill club. |

As for the hiding weapons deal, couldn't they just search you? That's what the clubs do here in LA.

[ QUOTE ]
FWIW, about the whole "URBAN TRASH" thing, I was wearing a pair of COOGI jeans and a COOGI t-shirt. I'd say my attire was more expensive than most of the patrons there. [/ QUOTE ] Not to attack you personally, but what does the price of an article of clothing have to do with the dress code of a particular establishment? I used to work security for a large club and there were usually good reasons for every piece of the dress code. Our rule on shirts was that if it covered the tops of your pockets it had to be tucked in. I think the reason's for this are obvious. Our dress code also called for no t-shirts and no sweatsuits/hoodies. There were constantly people turned away for wearing both of the above. Most of them said "But this is a $100 t-shirt" or "This is a $400 sweat suit". Both of those statements are irrelevant to the fact that those items are not allowed. Another reason for the dress code is image. There are alot of club owners and management that don't want their club to look like a set for shooting a rap video. |

[/ QUOTE ] This club doesn't exactly have a "dress code" besides the fact you can't wear long shirts. I was responding to the "URBAN TRASH" statement that was made earlier in this thread. If it indeed is a security issue (let me stress the fact they've rarely if EVER had any altercations) They could pat someone down in the time it takes for them to tell me to hold my hands by my sides to check my shirt length. Re: Explain the logic behind this...
Dude, we don't know this club... you seem to know everything about it so just enlighten us.
It's perfectly fine to have whatever dress code they want. Last time I checked, it wasn't illegal to listen to rap and wear a shirt that doesn't go to your knees. I'm sure there are tons of clubs in the LA area that play hip-hop and have a much stricter dress code. You really think this is racist? |
