Re: giant overbet on river, I always guess wrong here

...you can't call... ...since as far as bluffs go, this one would be pretty horrible... [/ QUOTE ] Isn't this kind of contradictory? |

Re: giant overbet on river, I always guess wrong here
I know Patrik quite well from the EPT circuit in Europe.
I think hes capable of betting ANY two cards on the river. Against Patrik on semi tilt i cant pass this, not a chance. More than 50% of the time in this situation id be good im sure. I know its hard to put variance into perspective here due to the randomness of the hand, but still seems a pretty standard call against a tilty Patrik! what did he have by the way? Re: giant overbet on river, I always guess wrong here

[ QUOTE ] I think many 5-10 players are capable of thinking that, but that doesn't necessarily make this a call. [/ QUOTE ] You said Villain is a semi-regular who's fairly solid? There's absolutely no reason to suspect that he's a moron that hit trips and decided to go crazy with it. Look at it from his point of view - limped pot, then you pot the flop and the turn, board pairs, he makes a massive bet... you can't call unless you've seen Villain pull these types of stunts in the past and get caught, since as far as bluffs go, this one would be pretty horrible. Absent a read that Villain is a total donk, this is not a "coinflip" call. Kirk [/ QUOTE ] I didn't say anything about him being solid. In fact this hand gave me better information about his play, including his looseness pf. |
