I dont play this level, but this seems like a perfect situation to check and raise all in.

Re: cardsharkk04 style, Plan: Make him fold his overpair
In the beginning of my poker career, I probably lost more money in attempts to 'make my opponent fold his overpair'. However, in this situation I feel you have little choice but to make a move at the pot.
Against overpair (assuming a club in his hand) 43.18% $830 in the pot With the strength of your draw against an overpair, you will be getting correct pot odds against any raise you may face. Make a bet making it possible for your opponent to fold his hand, rather than allowing him to conveniently putting you on a smaller overpair or a big draw by making a larger bet. What would you bet if you were holding a set? I would bet the same amount. Say 600 mike TheRailbirds |

Re: cardsharkk04 style, Plan: Make him fold his overpair
this is what i hate about poker.
you can grind out the small pots and then a buggery one like this comes up. completely agree with a comment above - this is exactly how a set would be played - youd get some money in on the flop before a scare card comes down and to try get him all in by the river. i think this is a very good play so long as your certain he is a nit. personally id advocate betting a little less, just becuase it will make it seem like you want a fold and so i think you FE actually increases. |
