I think that it's really slowed down due to a combination of Jay-Z and Biggie really becoming influential and also the spread of southern rap. However, there still are some fast rappers, just a lot of them are over in the UK in the grime scene.

Any of you guys know of Jurrasic 5?

They're not particularly fast, but most songs are a bit faster than mainstream stuff. They've got the best beats too IMO.

I'd recommend downloading a few songs, they're very different from most other rap. Each CD sounds pretty unique as well.
