On this board, he is never bluffing the river if you check the turn.

u give him a free card. you dont make him pay.

From a FTOP perspective, is he likely to make a mistake on this turn? This guy is not a fish.

i'm not sure what you're getting at here. if you bet and he folds his 4-7 outer correctly, your bet is still correct. he doesn't have to make a mistake for betting to be correct.

or am i missing your point entirely?

I fire again... off the top of my head, you have 9 outs to the nuts, 4 outs to the straight which most likely at least ties you for the hand... and now, on the turn, you have a great bluff card... against that guy, I'd fire again

Not betting is horrible you have draws coming out of your ass

so many hands he will see the turn with

if he check/raises you dont lose much because you have a crap load of outs

you will get him to fold a lot of other hands which could beat you on the river

even if he isn't making a mistake by calling you'd rather him call a bet than give him a free card if he will not bluff the river at a high frequency, which this guy probably wont

[/ QUOTE ]

It's possible that he could make a second best hand on the river and lose 2 bets. But I agree, part of checking the turn involves having an opponent capable of bluffing the river.

My default is bet, but with a pot this small if he would bluff the river 45-50% or more then Id check and call river. But this board and maybe even the size of the pot would keep him from doing that, that often anyway. imo.

Why? I see missed draws donking rivers all the time.

If you check the turn here, I'm putting you squarely on a hand that wants to showdown because I can't imagine you giving up this chance to bet with JT and fold out some better hands.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ok, what hands are you checking the turn with?

ace high

that's the answer to both questions. a tough tag can probably put krishan on ace high once he checks behind on the turn, and he should know hes not folding it.
