[ QUOTE ] Quickly, to showdown! [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Agree with this. I don't understand how anyone can possibly advocate folding or raising anywhere. The flop C/R could be anything - a 6, 7, big spade, bluff, J, J with a spade, whatever. I would guess we are ahead probably a little more often than not, but raising anywhere just allows our opponent to really punish us when we are not or get away from his bad holdings. |

I like the turn raise line too. On the other hand I really want to have some read before I use it cuz I hate dumping made hands in big pots against unknowns. And I saw many retarded river desperation bluffs recently.

these hands are annoying. i passively check-call it down all the way unless another 9 hits.
but it's an easy decision to stay involved here. much tougher when you don't have the flush draw to go along w/your middle pair and have no idea if you're ahead or drawing extremely thin. |

I think if you fold situations like this, you're opening yourself up to getting run over. This hand should be going to showdown routinely.

The responses surprise me a bit. I either 3-bet this or raise a non-spade turn, with 3-betting probably being more common.

You'll usually maky the same by calling down and you'll often put more money in when raised fearing some sort of semi-optimal semi-bluffing frequency on his part. |

I think that this is very true Bryce. A lot of people seem to forget that a missed flushdraw will ALWAYS (almost ) bet the river when missed...
