"I asked Michael what happened and Michael said he (Pierzynski) hit him without the ball, but that's baseball to me," Cubs manager Dusty Baker said during an in-game TV interview.

I dunno sounds/looks pretty lame to me by Barrett.

Didn't something like this happen on monday also?
It makes sense, since the Cubs take offense to things like, you know, playing hard, hustling, in general trying to win.

That's just a cheap shot

[/ QUOTE ]

The cheapest of the cheap sucker punchs. AJ ran over Barrett cleanly and won the battle of home plate. Barrett being a pussy went for the sucker punch because he got owned feebly trying to block the plate.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't know about this. Realize that when both of them were scrambling to stand up AJ bumped into Barrett and, considering he had just had his block knocked off, he was probably pretty confused and maybe thought that AJ was trying to fight him.

Ah yes, throwing his own player under the bus after a tense situation (even if the player may have overreacted).

But at least he's an excellent in-game tactician, right?

queerzinski deserved it. There was no reason for him to lean in to Barret with his shoulder. Barret was just standing there and the prick tries to walk right through him.

Not a fan of either team, or any team in either's division, so I say this as a neutral observer:

Knocking over the catcher is obviously fine, but AJ deserved that punch the way he "touched" the plate.
