Dude you know that adage about arguing with fools... I think there's some mega-corrolary about caring so much you bring your friends in to argue with fools.

I will be more than happy to make an account and call these people stupid for you. But I'm not going to try to wrack my brain trying to get someone to understand common sense who obviously has no grasp on it and never will. That's about as crazy as kicking a conversion there.

Btw have you seen my solution for vastly improving overtime ? Now there's some debate fodder. Best idea ever. No one can grasp its brilliance though.

Another interesting math argument is most teams don't go for it nearly enough on 4th down. Apparently coaches value losing their jobs a little more than winning the games.

But boy if there was ever a perfect team, the Chiefs of the last 4 years--all offense, no defense, best OL and back(s) in football, and a coach who really shouldn't have to care too much about his job or reputation. He could just announce that's what he was going to do before the beginning of the season, tell everyone to prepare for some excitement and some heartache. Man that would be fun.

btw I have given up and instead admitted that they might be right, and that I only have been arguing about this because my favorite college football team lost when they kicked the XP and the rest of the game was scoreless.

here's a fun question. You are in a gameshow and there are 3 doors. 1 of them has a prize. You pick one. STOP!

Now the host shows you whats behind 1 of the 2 doors you didn't pick. He ALWAYS shows you what's behind the losing door (nothing). Stop!

Now you get the oportunity to stick with the door you selected originally. Or you may switch to the remaining door. Do you change? Does it matter?

I agree that going for the 2 is generally correct, but not as an absolute. If the score is 10-8 it is more obvious, but what if this is the arena league with the score is 48-46 and the other team has scored 3 TD's on defense and you have dominated the game? So, I'd say 99% of the time I'd go for 2.

Perhaps the bigger questions here is... "Who cares if you can persuade these guys and why would you waste your time on this site discussing anything with these tards?"

Go for two and it's not even close.

Three outcomes:
Go for two and get it - 14-14
Go for two and fail - 14-12 (still need a score)
Kick PAT - 14-13 (still need a score)

How is this even a question?

On a similar but more debatable note, I think Lebron should have intentionally missed the foul shot. Up 1 with 1.3 to go and 1 foul shot (detroit had no time outs) Detroit had no chance to take a 2 pointer, so there is no difference between a 1 and a 2 point lead. Makes it harder for Detroit to get a shot off.
