SLC's Park City is looking pretty good right now, but it seems like going around Thanksgiving is a mistake?

My gf uses up her vacation days flying back to Japan every Xmas/New Years, and I have school in the meantime. Are the snow conditions better during Xmas/New Years? I probably could convince her to go skiing with me instead of visiting parents. The next available time would be Spring Break I think.

When would be a good time to start making ski reservations/arrangements?

the week between xmas and new years may have good snow, but it's guaranteed to be redonkulous crowded. I will make improptu trips before Christmas, but will certainly not make plans to.

I would wait until after new years.

The snow is usually pretty good over x-mas and New Years, but the crowds can get insane. It is also usually really cold. Spring skiing is my favorite. The snow is softer allowing for crazier attempts in the terrain park (not sure if you will be doing any of this though), it is generally warmer, and it still snows a ton and usually more depending on the month. Too lazy to look, but off the top of my head I believe March gets the most snow on average in the mountains of Colorado. Remember, because of the higher altitudes, the freezing point is higher than 32 degrees Farenheight, allowing for better snow in warmer temperatures.
