[/ QUOTE ] this is a very true statement. I've been a fan for a long time now, and am what would be called a "smart" or a "smark" type of fan. I also go through periods where I have to watch Raw every monday night and order every WWF(e) PPV relgiously and then go through periods where I couldn't care less most of the time. RIght now I order TNA PPVs all the time and I sometimes watch Vince wrestling everynow and then. What people are used to though is the american product, which can be a bit too much into theatrics. If they saw the Japanese Puroesu product, I think that they'd have a much different outlook on wrestling and what makes it so great for those of us who are fans

I downloaded some old episodes of RAW from 1999 a while back and basically the wrestling was secondary to the storylines. It was almost like a TV show that happened to be set in a professional wrestling federation.

I used to say how I thought wrestling was stupid, it was scripted, I would rather watch real sports, all that stuff.
Then when I was a sophomore I was hanging out with some chicks I worked with, they turned on wrestling and I was hooked. It's entertaining, and there's not much cooler than when a guy returns or switches or something and the music hits and the fans go nuts. It's just got flair about it (and Ric Flair, who for some reason can still hang it, even doing ladder matches lately- and doing them well). It's kind of like the best of both worlds. You have athletics combined with entertainment. The fact that it's scripted doesn't make Kurt Angle any less of an athlete.

Pro wrestling cannot be compared to MMA. I love both. MMA is a sport. Pro Wrestling is worked and intended to be entertainment. It's more of an art and has a big creative element to it.
