Re: + EV - suckouts - bad luck - precise poker
[ QUOTE ]
It's pretty clear that you're not looking for advice. Your game is flawless, you don't have any leaks, and you're the unluckiest man on the planet. We got it. May I suggest BBV? [/ QUOTE ] See, I didn't get this from the OP. The OP also doesn't give us and information to ask the question asked, however. I really don't see a problem with being +$$ after 20k hands. |

Re: + EV - suckouts - bad luck - precise poker
[ QUOTE ]
I feel I have played very good poker for my first 20000 hands. [/ QUOTE ] Well, since you're new here and haven' posted a lot of hands if any, there's no way we can judge this statement. [ QUOTE ] I'm up around $20, 19,11,3. [/ QUOTE ] What stakes? [ QUOTE ] Please don't give me the standard 'please post some hands". Shillix etc, comments would be appreciated. Thanks [/ QUOTE ] Um, then how are we supposed to help? You don't want the standard answer, but it is the correct one for your question. |

Don't call postflop just click the bet/raise button or fold.

You have completed the "I play only my cards" phase of your poker education, bringing you up to the level of a slightly-better-than-average Party player (thus the slight win.) Now it is time to begin your second-level thinking. Reads are what it's about. Go for it and report back after another 20,000 hands (maybe even fewer, if you give up the trollish habits). |

If you can't spot areas that you can improve in, then you're probably not very good.

Re: + EV - suckouts - bad luck - precise poker
I too donked away a ton of money playing NL before I was born again and found limit.
After 3K hands I am running at about 7BB/100. Should I assume that this will all evaporate and I will find that I really don't know jack by the time I get to 20K? Part joking, part serious. I was kind of hoping my win rate had something to do with me being a decent poker player. |

Re: + EV - suckouts - bad luck - precise poker
Some advice you need to take seriously. Understand that if you keep playing, studying and reading these forums, you will find out in a few months or maybe a year, that you weren't half the player you are now that you will be.
You'll understand concepts and ways to play hands against different opponents in better ways that would never cross your mind right now. It's as simple as you don't know what you don't know. You can't see it because you're not there yet. I used to think I was pretty good when I started too. And at that point I was playing any pocket pair in all positions, calling in the blinds with damn near anything, playing TJ utg and all kinds of things that I know are unprofitable...almost always. You never know when a situation may change what is almost always wrong, to right. Don't be arrogant, don't be defensive, most people here would like to help you, but you are coming off as already too good for the many players you are asking advice from. Relax. I've never posted a hand, but it is a good idea to repond to others posted hands with your opinion, you'll be corrected if wrong and can learn that way. |

7bb/100 at what level?
anything above .10/.20 I would say that rate will level off. It has little to do with whether or not you are a good player. Most of the best here run 2.5-3.5/100 at most levels where there is a rake (.25/.50 - 2/4) |
