Re: river c/r bluff (?) (online?)
It's just not how I would really play them, I think it makes so much more sense to fire river than to c/r those hands, that's why I think it's fishy.

Re: river c/r bluff (?) (online?)
i think i agree with mdma here. the c/r is an okay line but your hand range to value bet c/r is probably narrower than your river leading range...by this i mean to c/r for value you are probably only showing up with sets and 2 big pair, while you might lead some big aces and small 2 pair for value where as you would just call the c/r with them. dunno if villain is thinking this far but you kinda gotta know what he will percieve that c/r as, if he thinks you are capable by all means go for it, it sure as hell is still a scary line imo but i don't know how often he(unknown) v-bets and then folds here.

Re: river c/r bluff (?) (online?)
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] It just makes no sense to check river here with something good, he knows that you know that his most likely holding should be a bad ace, and then if you have anything good, he knows you should bet so that you do not risk him checking behind. [/ QUOTE ] i will c/r this river sometimes w AAA or KKK or AK - why does that strike you as odd? [/ QUOTE ] the thing is, people don't expect it. I do it all the time also, and people call. because they don't think you'd c/r with AAA or KKK here. that's an argument against using the play as a bluff: you have to have your opponent give you a lot of credit as a very tricky player to think you can represent a non-bluff hand |

This is like a limit move. Not sure if I like it.

Re: river c/r bluff (?) (online?)
I feel like his most likely holding is aces up, and he's rarely folding aces up.

Re: river c/r bluff (?) (online?)
Hi lap,
He probably isnt betting a lone ace. Probably two pairs or better => this will never work. The other times he is bluffing. So fold or call is better than check-raise. |

Re: river c/r bluff (?) (online?)
I agree with what others have said here about him probably not betting this much with a weak holding, and would like the push much more if he bet something like 300 on the riv.
I also agree that people even when they bet one pair here often call because "wtf if I fold here you can do this to me every hand, gotta keep you honest" This is atleast true if you have an image most good online players tend to get when playin 5 handed, you still havent said anything about your image. edited to add the word online to my last sentence. |

Re: river c/r bluff (?) (online?)
Your c/r could be you gave him a little rope. Then again, it might be you think this is a better bluff line than str 3 barreling.
He's getting about 2.5-1 on his remaining $700'ish to look up a 50-50 shot. That's pretty good. I think leading 3 barrels str, like $700 into the $600 pot, giving him less than 2-1, is the stronger, more believable play. |
