Someone explain why we should be betting this turn with our entire range, that seems pretty stupid if you want to maximize value vs smaller pairs which our opponent has a lot.

let me clarify: i think its dumb as [censored]. why dont you enlighten me?
edit: well not against some people w history...but i dont see a reason to bet every hand in our range here. Being super vague does not help your cause. |

Betting turn accomplishes what exactly?
-You can't get two more streets of value from a worse hand -It doesn't prevent you from making a bigger mistake on a future street -You don't need to protect your hand -You can only bluff one possible better hand, KK Only arguments would be that... 1) you're never getting a dime from a worse hand, so even tho your opponent is drawing to 2 outs if he's behind, you might as well bet him out. I'd disagree w/ this. 2) metagame, yea, I don't think this is that relevant, but I can be swayed But yea, I'm with bakes, I like a turn check. |

Since it's a reraised pot I'd be really inclined to call the river since I can't really give him credit for calling the flop with Ax or calling preflop with random hearts. I would probably fold if it was a normal raised pot vs most villains with this action, though, or at least it would be a lot closer to a fold.
Turn check is also standard without history, and now you call the river, zzz. |

I agree withg bakes/mikej that a turn bet is pretty bad.
the only argument that i can see for it is metagame which some could argue is virtually a nonfactor in an online MTT. you can't get two more streets of value so this seems to me like a fairly standard check to induce a river bet from a smaller pp (and to not get blown off your hand by a flush draw) |
