Today my son is going on a field trip with his summer day camp so this morning I asked him if he knows what to do if he gets lost.

His reply: "Stop, Drop, and Roll."

did you ask him what to do in case of a fire? That oughta be interesting.

Awesome.

You'll have to teach him what to do in case of volcanic eruption. Duck and cover

Hahahahahahaha, no fair exposing the ignorance of us grownups!

I think the answer is 'stay put' or something. Maybe 'ask a cop', my girl recognizes the police.

I'd lay odds that if a reporter stuck a mic into the face of any of my kids, the kid would answer any question with, "I like pie."

I open the bathroom door this morning to come downstairs after a taking a shower to discover a snake slithering on top of the stairs about 2 feet away. It's of the striped variety, maybe 18 inches long.

If I had to, I could deal with this myself, but there are men in the house so I may as well take advantage.

"There's a snake here!"

Hubby comes to my rescue. Picks up the villain, depositing it in an empty aquarium in the office. He's not surprised as the Boy had a snake yesterday, but was told not to bring it in the house.

Said Boy is awoken by my exclamation of surprise, and explains that "he fell asleep before he figured out where to put the snake for the night."

"So, you fell asleep, in your bed, holding a snake, before you decided where to put it?"

"Pretty much."

(In his defense we'd both fallen asleep on the couch at 5:30 AM Wed. watching the WSOP final table. He then stayed at a friends Wed. night, so no sleep Wed. either.)

This is the same kid that's been giving me crap for five years or so for falling asleep at the table in the middle of counting cards while playing cribbage with him. (I'd arrived home from Hong Kong that day and was playing cards with him in an effort to stay awake as long as possible in the evening in order to aid jet lag recovery.)

So in BBV style:

Brag: I can now claim that falling asleep holding a snake is way worse than falling asleep while playing cards.
Beat: Snake surprise!
Variance: There's a snake in the office in an aquarium.

For your future kung fu purposes, remember that snake is typically countered with crane style.

i'm 21 so i don't have any kids yet. but i'm essentially a 5yo boy still when i'm alone.
i run everywhere, sing really really loud (anything: rap, jazz, whatever), and dance. i do this 100% of the time, often while multitasking whatever i'm actually focusing on at the moment. I still have this childish alter-ego that i use to interact with a lot of my friends, it's almost sarcastic but not really. autism?

My 8yo sister, the day after watching Return of the Jedi, couldn't remember Jabba's name and therefore referred to him as "that big fat ball of carbs."
