btw, i think this thread is pretty dumb.

'what makes a great performance?' it's believable, realistic and evokes emotion? seems kinda obvious.

it's almost like saying 'what makes a great basketballer?'. he is effective on both offense and defense and reads the game well?

'what makes a great burger?' - every bite is delicious?

When I forget I'm reading subtitles in a foreign movie is the first example that came to mind. (ie: Run Lola Run or Pan's Labyrinth)
