One sort of off topic tip..............

My friend and I stayed downtown last August. Every day around 2pm(very hot...outside temperatures were around 110 degrees) we went to the Vu Bar at Fitzgeralds. Draft Bud and Bud light are $1.50 or $2 or something. There is a balcony overlooking Fremont Street. The balcony is misted. The temperature9on the balcony) there was consitently coming in around the high 80's. The high 80's never felt so good as on that balcony. We spent about 4-5 hours a day chilling on that balcony, drinking beer, and smoking cigars purchased from the little shop between El Cortez and LV Bl(the guy makes them himself).

My wife (non gambler) and I have gone in July the past three years.

If you can find shade, the pools are ok before noon and after 4.

It's a dry heat (but so is a sauna).

Advantages to July, mid week, the town is empty. You can get dinner reservations pretty much anywhere you want, if you start now, good tix for most shows at face (last year we got third row seats for Love, opening week).

Last year at MGM, I experienced minimal waiting time at the tables (low stakes).

So, don't plan on being outside much in the heat of the day, and have a grat trip.

It's a dry heat (but so is a blast furnace).
