Re: I pretty much have to call this river bet, right?
Maybe it was the seven that was a heart on the flop? That's all that makes sense if you really had a Q-hi flush on the end. Anyway, readless against a live player at the Series (where the number of players who don't really know how to play PLO trying to learn will be at an all-time high), you have to call this. Really, the chances that he runnered the nut flush are pretty small. I think a whiffed wrap is more likely given the flop action.

Re: I pretty much have to call this river bet, right?
Yeh, it was a 7 of hearts for sure.
Anyway this thread seems to have run it's course, so the guy had a king high flush with K8. He also had an ace and I didn't really get a good look at his 4th card (he only pushed forth the 2 relevant cards and I was too flustered by the loss of a month's rent to think straight). I wish I had made sure to look though... been bugging me ever since. I hope he at least had 2 pair. |

LOL, the horror! I guess river was the 9 of hearts. All I remember is that it was a non-straight heart.
Or maybe the deck was rigged... yeah that's it. |

Re: I pretty much have to call this river bet, right?
1. 'premium hands' doesn't mean 'high pairs.'
2. Even if you're only raising strong hands, (say, PFR of like 10%) this still gives you the advantage of building pots for when you flop well /and/ winning most flops that include an Ace, whether you hold one or not. 3. Call the river. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yes, although it doesn't include remembering the non-essential details correctly. I smoke a bit too much pot for such accuracy I played a ton of big pots that night and I probably couldn't tell you the suits from any of them if no flushes were involved. BTW, lost the biggest pot of my life last night getting it in with top set on a 943 flop... damned Omaha =/ |
