All,

But what do you do if it's a ONE MILLION DOLLAR CHIP? In that case I yell "OMG IS THAT PHIL HELLMUTH" and point, and then pocket the chip when everyone's craning their neck to get a glimpse of the WSOP legend. Then on the next hand I calmly excuse myself to go to the restroom, but instead go to the cage, and then to Mexico before they can figure out what just happened.

[/ QUOTE ]

This reminds me of an old (and bad) joke.

A man walks up to this attractive woman and says, "Would you sleep with me for $1M?" The woman says, "Sure!"

Then the man asks, "Would you sleep with me for $50?" The lady says, "Hell no! I'm not a whore!"

The man says, "I believe you are...we're just negotiating price now."

Integrity is integrity...regardless of the amount involved.

Yes, I know I'm probably being leveled.

And his comment was just a comment. Don't like it, then don't comment on his comment.

But to defend OP, it's not THAT weird of a question.

If a slot machine pays you out $50 instead of $40 would you go find someone to give the $10 back to? If a BJ dealer forgets and pays you 3:2 on your blackjack instead of the posted 6:5, do you tell 'em? If a craps dealer pays you 2:1 for your odds instead of 3:2 do you tell 'em? If you find a $5 chip on the casino floor far from any people do you pocket it or turn it in? Have you ever cheated on your taxes, even a little (and remember, failing to report every penny of gambling income session by session is breaking the law and cheating your fellow taxpayers).

Each of these questions will illicit a different poll response. When people think they're stealing from the big bad casino, or the nasty government, it becomes a lot easier to do it.

So don't think so very poorly of OP for asking. If the $25 came out of the casino's pocket, and nobody would be the wiser, and the dealer wouldn't suffer for it, I imagine the poll numbers would shift a lot. I do believe there are a lot of million dollar whores and I believe there are a lotta folks who will jump on a chance to steal from The Man but don't want to hurt their fellow man.

If you don't want comments, don't post the question on gigantic online message board.

I admit it. I'd sleep with almost anyone for a million dollars.

What if another player was selling you chips & did the exact same thing the dealer did??? Give it back or keep it???

[/ QUOTE ]

This happened to me once. I gave a guy a 20-stack of $5 chips, for his $100 bill. He counted them out, and stacked them back up. Then I decided to make sure, so I counted my other stacks -- they were 21-tall, not 20. I told him that, and he said "Oh" and gave me back my $5 without counting his stack again. Boo hiss.

make it right. Give it back-----
A few years ago at the Aladdin, they had these stupid $5.00 that looked like a black--- My wife cashed in my chips while I went to wee wee, the floor dude made a mistake and gave her a $100 for that $5.00 chip along with the cash for all the other chips.
When I got home and counted my $$ I noticed I had an extra $95 ---
I went back the next day, told him what he did and offered the $95 back.
He said NO---

It's only a question of honesty. You'll probably feel a lot better about giving it back than you would about the $25 extra bucks you have. I do have to say that it is awfully tempting to keep it, but don't do it.

Are you really asking if it's OK to steal?
