I caught 2 marked cards yesterday on the lowball table at the WSOP. This isn't that surprising, lowball players are notorious for doing this - its part of the reason why lowball games are practically dead now.

This is getting kind of ridiculous. What happened was there was a bent 4s, so that and two other bent cards were identified and the floor decided to replace all three. She didn't take the bad cards with her and mistook the 4s for the 4c. So, she brought a new 4c, putting two in the deck. Absolutely nothing nefarious happened. The error was discovered quickly.

The game had nine regulars plus the seat that nineinchal describes. Lest anyone get the wrong impression, the tenth player made it a real game, else it would have sucked. nineinchal's haul provides further evidence that if you hit almost every one of your hands, you make money.

You truly are better at golf. As always thanks for the corrections as this thread was quickly becoming conspiratorial.

Go ask the casino shift manager at the Borgata about mucking cards in at three card poker and 4 card poker out at the table games in the last year or two. 5 aces on the table at four card poker and so forth. Same team operated at the Plaza and other casinos. The casinos changed to large index cards overnight. Mucking as well as marking cards happen at poker as well as the table games. It's your choice if you want to believe in the innate honesty of your fellow man. That won't stop people from cheating. Borgata and Taj are well known for multiple players staked by the same person, all playing in the same game. Those aware of it avoid those games and only play them when the players in question all gravitate to a higher stakes games on weekends.

What do you mean almost every one? I hit every hand.

I'd rather be lucky than know how to actually play poker.

See you Saturday.

I didn't want to open the JFK assination forty four years after the fact. I just wanted to let my fellow twoplustwo'ers know that you can get cold called by a 9-3 suited for three bets pre-flop and get your blinds raised by a K-5 offsuit in a 20/40 game. That was what was most bizarre to me.

As no straight can be had without either the T or the 5, that's seems like a good choice. As marking the Aces, Kings, and Queens might be more noticeable - marking the A, T, 5 seems like a good choice for cheaters.

Good to know for keeping an eye out. It's rare but I have run into marked decks twice where I had to say something as I waited both times for 10 or so minutes to see who might have been looking out for these cards or to see if someone else noticed it.

OK, how about marked card tips for those of us that rarely get to play live. I have never seen a marked card although I have heard other players claim that a card was marked.

There was a marked 2c in the 40/80 tonight. Also, a Qd's corner was bent. Both of these were changed without question. We resorted to hand shuffle in the meanwhile with the other deck. These issues were probably caused by the problematic shufflers.
