I'm not over the moon about getting all in here. This is SA/dead. So I call and look to showdown

surely this is not going to be easy. We have two streets to go and villain is gonna get the chance to bet both of them. And if he happens to only have the naked ace of hearts, he might even check the turn behind and get a free card. No matter what happens here, it sucks for us.

Yes but it's much better for it to suck in a small pot than in a large one.

Villain could be doing this with a pretty large range, so my play here is to normally call and pot any non-heart turn. This defines the villains hand pretty well.

Im not all that funked about getting all the money in on the flop tho.

if we go into check/call mode here the pot is still gonna increase exponentially and it will by no means be a small pot. In the worst scenario villain pots both turn and river and we are gonna have to call $20 on the turn and $60 on the river making the final pot $180. Unless villain has something we beat, then he probably exercises some pot control at some point and we get a smaller one.

I'm starting to like call flop, and then possibly c&f turn to a sizable bet.

actually after thinking about it, maybe villan leading the turn if it's a non-heart does indeed spell dead. Id still rather lead the turn if its a blank because I think villan calls or folds alot more than he raises

i disagree that we are always SA/dead against a terrible player. surely 2pair is within his range, possibly even some crap gushot with a pair and other weird hands that donks minraise with like mid PP's with a heat(99h, 88h etc).

i dont love this spot much at all, but i think a 3bet with the intention of getting it in v this opponent is best. the times he shows up with the bare Ah and other hands that you are crushing makes up for the times you are drawing dead imo.

ff, look at these:

Board: 2h 3h 4h
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 53.485% 45.15% 08.33% 447 82.50 { Ad5d }
Hand 1: 46.515% 38.18% 08.33% 378 82.50 { 5c5h }

Board: 2h 3h 4h
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 54.040% 53.84% 00.20% 533 2.00 { Ad5d }
Hand 1: 45.960% 45.76% 00.20% 453 2.00 { 6c6h }

Board: 2h 3h 4h
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 60.202% 56.67% 03.54% 561 35.00 { Ad5d }
Hand 1: 39.798% 36.26% 03.54% 359 35.00 { AhTc }

Board: 2h 3h 4h
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 62.323% 59.09% 03.23% 585 32.00 { Ad5d }
Hand 1: 37.677% 34.44% 03.23% 341 32.00 { 4c4s }

Board: 2h 3h 4h
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 08.333% 00.00% 08.33% 0 82.50 { Ad5d }
Hand 1: 91.667% 83.33% 08.33% 825 82.50 { 6s5s }

Board: 2h 3h 4h
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 00.101% 00.00% 00.10% 0 1.00 { Ad5d }
Hand 1: 99.899% 99.80% 00.10% 988 1.00 { QhJh }

We either have at best 60% equity or have 2%...I dont like those odds in a 4way limped pot, when we have like nothing in.

I'd MUCH rather have AhAx or 44 here
