I'm of the belief that increased traffic is a good thing, not a bad thing.

This is relative, of course. If we combined uNL(6max) and ssNL(6max), then sure, that new forum would appear to have increased traffic.

In fact, I believe that if we split, the combined traffic of the 2 new forums would surpass what we have now. So if we are looking to increase traffic, I think this would definitely be the way to go.

I don't disagree with this statement automatically, but I think there is some risk that if we spit too early that it isn't out of the question that growth will stagnate.

So almost everybody agrees that at least at some point a split will be necessary.

Everybody also seems to agree that uNL and ssNL play out a bit differently.

Most agree (presumably based on early results) that we should go ahead and split now because both new forums would have enough traffic to take off on their own.

I don't see why we would have to wait until we are in the top 3 or whatever in traffic to split.

We should split for better organization and better quality advice; NOT because we 'got too big'.

I don't think we should assume we have a consensus this early in the day. Afterall, the daytime hours are heavier with pros, which are obv higher limit players.

I suggest we at least give it 24 hours before we decide.

Sure, but keep in mind this is all really just an unofficial concensus. Even if everybody wanted a split, we would be at the mercy of 2+2 deciding that it is also in their best interest, and Berge will probably have a big say in that.

I vote for not yet.

Generally people will give advice on the limits they play in, or have played in recently. Otherwise they tend to make it clear by saying "I don't play these stakes, but here goes..." so I don't see any overwhelming reason to change.

I suppose the only argument is that higher limit posters don;t bother because they don't want 10NL players giving them advice.

As a 200NL player I say keep as is for a few months.
