on the flop id bet. people arent going to draw for half pot anyway, so might as well make a real bet and build a pot. turn check i get and i think it's ok. in addition to someone possibly having a bigger 4 than you, the only real draw got there. on the river id make it 225-250 and fold to a shove

This is a raised pot. And while trips weak kicker is a leak of many people, our kicker is not weak on the turn. standard hands with 4 in them include 43/45/46/4A. We are ahead of all except one and I don't quite get why we have a problem getting it in here in a raised pot? And from the one hand that beats us, there is few combinations of it. On top of that (did we need another reason?), we just hit a draw. Is checking because people think that 45 or 46 will fold 3 streets of betting? Or do you think we are wa/wb because we are afraid of A4 (which is less likely given there is one more 4 and 3 aces left) and want to play tricky? I'm missing something here. Can someone clue me in please? |

raise river fo shooooo, stacks are a little tight for a raise/fold though. i'd probably shove it, given how we've played it so far

and jloc, i am aware that my BN bet looks FOS, it was intended to get a reg's call. and it did, but the fishy tagged along, which is why i slowed down. i mean sure, he'll call with an A on the turn, but won't he also call a raise on most rivers ? [/ QUOTE ] The combination of you being on BN + it getting checked to you + the uglyness of the board = FOS looking bet. This is good for you. The turn brings a card that both taggy and fishy float lots of flop bets by you with. This = good for you. The river bet makes him either have a stronger 4 then you or crap and he is making a move on you since your previous actions look so FOS. This also = good for you. Get da monies in yo. edit- Both posts were meant to show that a turn bet is optimal. Either way, your checked turn has now just induced a river bet rather then possibly him c/c you more often then not here. |

Fold preflop.
Bet a bit more on flop, $45-$50. I would likely bet the turn but check seems OK. As for river, I could go either way, your opponents sudden emergence could easily mean you're beat here. |
