For one thing, you most certainly don't have to 4-bet PF. But once you do and are called, it's a PP 90+% of the time with standard stars villains. Take the free card. And if you were going to bet, it would have been best to push the flop as you can't get away from it with these stack sizes.
Also, I think your PF 4-bet was small but not unreasonable. It gets the point across, denies him odds for a set, and doesn't commit you to a flop if you don't want to continue. People saying to commit 1/2 your stack PF against someone who obviously likes their hand need their heads checked. Most Stars players don't do this without big pairs and would expect the same from you. |

Try not to allow a pot get big when you hold AK until you hit... it is a drawing hand in most hands after all.

[/ QUOTE ] Thx for posting down here. And the general thought about AK oop in response to a 3-bet preflop is to either fold or 4-bet it because it's -EV if you're going to check-fold all non A/K flops. The other alternative line (albeit somewhat debateable) if u call the 3-bet is to check-raise all-in on any flop that u miss (assuming 100bb stacks). EDITED: whoops. just read that we're in position. take the above for what it's worth. |
