I dislike Cache Creek. The games are ok, and probably the best low stakes limit holdem game around is the 4/8 full kill game there, but the location of the poker "room" is horrible. It is in the middle of the casino floor, surrounded by slots, across from the food court, and choked with cigarette smoke.

Jackson was garbage... I was there a few weeks ago and they only had two NL games over the weekend and they were 1/2 100max.

I play 4/8 at Lucky Derby and Phoenix pretty often. Easy money in those games if you can be patient and handle the absurd beats.

For example, on Tuesday I saw a flop with about 3 or 4 other people and hit top two pair with my KJ. Flop was KJ6 (rainbow, K was a spade). I bet (I was the bb), get called by 2. Turn is 6 spades. I bet again, one call, one fold. River is another spade. I bet again, guy calls me with Q4s. Seriously. Q4spades... I was like WTF??? But that's how it goes in that game. And that's what normally makes it so profitable.

I don't have any NL experience at Lucky Derby because I'm on a small BR and their smallest NL is a 200max buy-in with 2-5 blinds... 40 big blind max buy-in is pretty lame.

Phoenix has a fairly soft 100max NL with 2-2 blinds. The 2-3 up at Dueces Wild was decent the couple of times I went up there.

Lucky Derby also regularly has a 500max NL with 5-10 blinds, but I'm not sure how hard it is. Every Thursday evening they spread 10-20NL.

On March 19th, Cache Creek will be opening a new room with 28 tables. The room will be in the old bingo area, and will be non-smoking. It will be a lot quieter than the current room, and will avoid the problems of the unbelievable waiting lists on the weekends. I will post more when I have more information as to what games will be spread, etc, but feel free to PM me with any additional questions and I will do my best to answer them.

Wow thanks everybody for the responses.. The suggestions are much appreciated. Sounds like I'll have plenty of opportunities to play several locations. I'm sure I'll find something fun, will write up a trip report

I forgot to mention... if Limit is definately what you're looking for, Capitol Casino spreads a very juicy 9/18 game. This is the only game I have managed to cash out for 12 racks.

Well, I am sure as long as the construction is going on time and on target. I am a Shift Manager at Cache Creek, so my information is generally pretty good

I will post more when I have more info.
