first it is pretty early to conclude something like that from their career numbers. second OPS generally weights SLG higher than it really should be, and sizemore only trails wright in obp by 10 points, making their real offensive gap less than OPS would indicate. the defensive advantage sizemore has more than makes up for that.

The only way this would be close is if Wright was a shortstop. Since Sizemore plays CF, there's no way you can make an argument for Wright.

Given that Wright is a few months younger than Sizemore and has been a slightly better offensive player over his career, wouldn't it be not close at all if Wright were a shortstop?

It would be closer, but it would be Wright. I guess the closest we could come would be if Wright played second base.

They're both great young players obv., but I'd take Seizmore because there's nobody else in baseball that can do what he can do.

With Wright, there's a bunch of others that are similar. Heck, there's 2 comparable 3B in Wright's own division! Who out there is comparable to Seizmore?

I'd say one of the only players in the MLB right now that's pretty comparable to Sizemore is Granderson. They're pretty similar players with similar tools, Granderson is just a year older.

Sizemore > Wright. I don't agree with whoever said Grady won't age well. He's one of the most athletic players in the entire league, I see him aging pretty well and gaining more power while he's at it.
