From what I've heard the reason that Halle Berry is hotter with short hair is that she has a really beautiful face, high cheekbones, whatever, and the short hair allows that to stand out more than when her hair is down.

Serious question, does anyone remember what the reaction was when Berry first got her hair cut short? I mean with other chicks like the Felicity girl and Portman it was almost universally negative as I recall.

(and I mean Portman with the short style pictured in the OP, not the completely buzzed look from V for Vendetta, everyone obviously hated that)
