The DS show gets first dibs on guests and most material. If it were to get cancelled and the CR got the best material from the DS, everything would be peachy.

I think the news coverage on the daily show is stronger, but the colbert interviews are way better than the daily show. I'm extremely impressed with the colbert report in general.

I still dont understand how the Colbert Report gets the guests that they do. Dont the guests from those different districts already know that the show does not take them seriously and has only invited them to me mocked?

Jon Stewart grinding his ax against bush gets old. The Daily Show used to be alot funnier when they made fun of non-political stuff as well.

Re: the interviews -- Jon Stewart has a reputation to protect and thus has to kiss some serious guest ass.

But because Colbert is essentially doing a 'schtick' the entire time (that of an over-the-top Sean Hannity-uberRepublican), he has more license to challenge his guests and essentially act like a d:ck, because it all feeds into his 'bit.'
That's why he can be more candid (in my opinion...which counts more now, since i just entered 'poo-bah' territory)

IMO, TDS is overtaken by any show on TV, even Simple Life, and the Soup.

I would respect the Daily Show much more if they changed the title to "George Bush + America sucks", because at least they would be straightforward.

The part that cracks me up about this is that Colbert is really making more fun of Bush and the Republicans than the DS.

The Daily Show still does the best job of calling out politicians both Democrats and Republicans. You say something that condradicts what you said before and DS has the clip. Plus I love This Week in God.

Colbert started off weak and has become much better. The Word has become something you have to watch every night. Sometimes the schtick goes over the top on me. I hate his interviews. They were funny when they were a guy who liked to collect body lint, when it is a nobel prize winner things get a little out of hand. But it does crack me up when he cheers for himself when he goes over to do the interview, then I turn it off.
