Re: Sluss\'s 2007 AFC Rankings (Week 6)
[ QUOTE ]
The Colts are undefeated, and have a much better team than they did last year, when they won the Super Bowl. They have a much better defense than they did last year, especially against the run, adding Freddy Keaiho, a healthy bob sanders, and Kelvin Hayden instead of Jason David (who's gotten abused). According to DVOA, they were 7th in the league in rushing last year. This year, they are first in the league in rushing, and no one is close. The Fox rankings at least have #1 right. What does a 1 mean? That they are perfect?

Maybe 1 is the baseline.

What does a 1 mean? That they are perfect? [/ QUOTE ] Every team has a score from 0 to 1. The Pats are at 1 and the Rams are at 0. Most of the teams are between 0 and 0.5, but that's mostly because the Pats have been so incredibly dominant. |

Re: Sluss\'s 2007 AFC Rankings (Week 6)
It's going to be pretty funny to me if the Colts beat the Patriots. I haven't heard anyone say a word about them, but then I look and they're 5-0 and Manning is completing 70% of his passes.
Not so sure people should be comparing them to the 89 49ers just yet. That being said, Tom Brady's numbers this year are just silly. |

It's not like the Pats are 80% to win or something. Playing in Indy, I wouldn't be shocked at all to see the Colts beat them, but that doesn't change the fact that the Pats are playing better football and I think overall are the better team. |

[/ QUOTE ] my guess is that the Pats will be a small favorite in Indy. they were -6 @ Dallas, so probably -2.5 or something sounds right for Indy. that's like a 60/40 game iirc |

I think Peyton Manning winning the Super Bowl last year was his worst sports moment ever. |

Re: Sluss\'s 2007 AFC Rankings (Week 6)
Heh, probably. I didn't want Peyton to win, either, but now that it's happened, it's probably all well and good. Now instead of the Brady = clutch, Peyton = unclutch arguments, we can just sit back and watch two incredible quarterbacks in their prime.
