In this situation just having a pair already when you push gives you a huge edge when you end up vs someone with a draw that doesn't have a pair. As an exercise, guess TheRempels actual flop equity in this hand ( Answer) Now if you turn that 7 in his hand to a 6, guess how much now ( Answer) Conversely, with Rempel's original hand but give the villain an overpair of ten's (changing Ace to a ten), this eliminates his advantage ( Answer) I think Ciaffone deals with this topic, but I can't find it immediately. |

basically a bitch post, but that's what this thread is for, right?
Just cannot get a decent hand to play all week. Its absolutely getting rediculous, over 7k hands my VPSP is down below 22%. I've been a solid 33% player for as long as I can remember, 320k hands on PT. The worst thing is my flops aren't hitting, even a little bit. I"m starting to look like the nit at the table, which I'm absolutely not, but I am unwilling to push the action. Been taking advantage of fold equity a lot more on the turn, but can't think of much more to do. I showed a semi bluff reraise all in on a paired board tonight at 1/2 game, which the guy folded to. I showed top pair and Q-flush draw. He replied, 'yeah, so what, am I supposed to be impressed?' I was thinking, 'yep, i wouldn't be. Anyway, its just tough to pull yourself out when the preflop is so off. I haven't staked anyone in the last 2k hands since i'm just not getting action. . . |

It is definitely a huge plus multitabling when you aren't getting very good hands or flop...it makes it seem not-as-bad.
But if you are just playing 2 or 3 tables and you are card and flop dead, that just plain sucks. |
