Liqueur: Gran Marnier, 80 proof, orange flavored cognac. Nice sipping drink.
Coffee: Gran Marnier, Baileys, and Coffee (in a snifter)
Trivia: In the later stages of his alcoholism, Canadian musician and songwriter Richard Manuel of The Band was consuming eight bottles of Grand Marnier per day.

This reminds me... as of Monday a week ago Caesars LV no longer allows you to order by brand. You may only order "vodka", "scotch", "bourbon", "tequila", etc now.

Sounds like a pub crawl I was at once where the included drinks were "house liquors" only, which I believe were Aristocrat - "rum," "vodka," or similar generics.

So no, you ain't gettin' snooty single malt scotches from every poker room.

What about at the $5 craps table or nickel slots?

Scotch - Johnnie Walker Blue

Bourbon - Maker's Mark

Anyway,
I think I'll stick to the following drinks:
Grand Marnier, Goose & Red Bull, Crown & Coke, Patron (Cafe), JW Black scotch, Remi Martin, lots and lots of Heinekins

BTW, should I be such a prick to ask for VSOP Cognac?
I'll be playing @ Mirage mostly.

a Rusty Nail is good if you like scotch.

QFT! A lot of "bang for the buck" in that drink... especially if you're drinking them in a LV poker room.

My last night in Vegas the last time I was there, I played poker at the Mirage until 3AM drinking Rusty Nails (made with Johnny Walker Black and Drambuie) for about six hours straight. Staggered back to my hotel room and passed out. I woke up at 10AM to make the noon check-out with the worst hangover I'd had since I was in college 37 years ago. Well first I have got to say that gambling while drunk is generally -EV. But if you really want to do it, a couple of Old Crusties (Bacardi 151 with Wild Turkey shots) will certainly fix you up fairly quickly.

Poker room has decided they won't pay for premium booze. MGM I know also refuses to offer top-shelf (you can get it if you pay for it). Monte Carlo refuses to serve Red Bull in the poker room (dunno 'bout ethanol-containing fluids).

So no, you ain't gettin' snooty single malt scotches from every poker room.

I sure do hope that the Venetian doesn't go this route. I attended BARGE there last year and I ordered Grand Marnier. The first time the waitress brought it it was in one of their regular glasses (which are fairly large) and filled more than half-way. I looked at it in amazement. The waitress said: 'Not enough? I'll be back in 15 minutes.'

That was the only time that I've told a waitress to NOT keep them coming.

I'm late to the party, but I've gotten quite fond of ordering Scotch. I still don't know enough to tell a single malt from a double malt by taste, though. The only single malt I found in Tunica is the Glenlivet at the Horseshoe; not sure how that maps to Vegas options.

Can you get Macallan, Balvenie or Lagavulin in the poker room? I am going to the Wynn in a couple of weeks, and if these are available, that would be awesome. Also, anyone know if you can get Bookers Bourbon? Thanks.

[/ QUOTE ]

I would have to assume you can at Wynn, but I can't speak from experience.

I do know you can get it at the V.
