Yep, at least 13.5 points for US now, no way they are not getting at least 0.5 more. All that is needed is Castrale not throwing her win away.

EDIT: Creamer now dormie and US retains the Cup, and now Castrale has won her match so US win.

But I still do not like the tv coverage, far too little Gulbis and Creamer.

And for you US guys, congrats to winning and the weather is very rarely this bad in september in scandinavia, the autumn has come very early this year and there is seldom this much wind and rain.

Most, if not all, of their cameras were on the late holes, so when G and C went out in the last three matches, you were unfortunate to not see much of them.

:-)

The ladies seemed to have played very well for the US. Morgan hit some great shots playing with Annika. It was a very strong finish for the team following mediocre doubles play. I hope the men were watching. :-)

It was the same in 2005 too. It's just a result of the format. In the beginning, they're obviously only following the early matches. As the play progresses, there is going to be more deciding strokes in those early matches so the focus tends to remain there.

Just a boneheaded move by Betsy King to have Creamer and Gulbis starting late. I think that should be grounds for having a couple of points deducted, heh.

I didn't watch any of this, but I've felt recent Ryder Cup telecasts have been worse, and it is not due, in that case, to cameras.

It seems to me that the trend in golf broadcasting is such that it's harder to cover 4 foursomes/fourballs or a dozen singles then a full field tournament. They want to focus on one or two story lines and it doesn't work very well. I think the fear is that covering all the matches is too complicated or unattractive for the casual viewer.

Anyway. That's an abbreviated rant, and I'm not sure it is related to whatever you found lacking in this event (more Paula! and Natalie!)...
