I understand some of you don't care, or don't even like Bobo, [/ QUOTE ] I don't think this is true at all. I'm very sorry to hear about this and I wish him the best. |

Re: The Great BobOjedaFan Is Seriously Ill
Tokyo,
My husband (at 18) was admitted into the hospital because he was so sick, similar to Bobo with the swollen glands, etc. It took them a week to diagnose him with mono. Three years ago we went 12 months with kyroette with some mysterious illness that made her so tired that she had heart palpitations and trouble breathing at times. She could barely get to school each day. I can only imagine how hard it was for Bobo to be able to finish school. Congrats to you both. Anyway, she was tested for everything under the sun - leukemia, lupus, celiac, lyme disease, multiple sclerosis, allergies....and it would all come back negative. She would cry every time we left the doctors with negative results - how sad is that? I went through the same web searches and fears you have. She was eventually diagnosed with a "mono-like viral illness" by an immunologist, who taught us a lot about how the immune system can be very difficult to understand at times. I hope Bobo has something of this nature and will eventuallly get back on his feet. But, in the meantime I am sure this has got to be very depressing for him to be sick this long and scary for you to see your friend like this. Please tell Bobo he is in my thoughts and prayers...to try and stay optimistic. I know that is easier siad than done. Please keep us posted. I have along history of worrying (ask kyro), so I will worry about him until I know he is better. They use an online persona to hide who they really are. I may have never known what to do with Bobo when we played WW, but I always [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Bobo. I suspect he has a heart of gold and would do anything for a friend. |

Re: The Great BobOjedaFan Is Seriously Ill
*UPDATE*
Hey POG, I visited Bobo in the hospital today for about an hour and a half. His parents, sister and grandma were there, and he was awake and talkative. He's still Jarrod and all, but his voice was weaker, and he was noticeably paler than normal. He told me that he'll probably be in the hospital for a few more days (probably not more than a week), having tests done and etc. The good news is he said he's probably not going to die or anything, even though they still aren't sure what is afflicting him. It is definitely immune system related though, and as such, probably has no cure. The bad news is that this is probably going to affect him for a long time. Even if he comes home, he's probably not going to be able to do anything physical for perhaps a month or more. Walking currently is pretty impossible right now, but they will likely prescribe alot of vitamins, drugs, etc to try and control the swellings and pain and stuff. This is very bad for him because it is going to screw up his life a ton. He recently scored a 100 on the Suffolk County Park Police test, which put him #2 on the list to become one, which was huge and his dream job. Now there is no chance he'd pass the physical portion, and it might put that in jeopardy, especially if this disease has lasting effects. Jarrod appreciates all the kind words and wishes, and I'll certainly keep you guys updated on his condition. I'll probably go see him on Tuesday next week, so hopefully he'll have improved. -Pete |
