I suspect that he does like the blade more too (it is faster). He mentioned before the surgery that he decides based on how each apparatus fits the patient's eye, but when I got into the room, he just went straight to the blade. It was probably better psycologically, since it was over before I knew what was being done.

![]() Glasses are cool. Also, it's weird when you get used to someone with glasses and then they go get that lasik thing done. They don't look right anymore. |

Yeah I have the eye shields. The damn tape they gave me is super adhesive which is very hard to wash off in the morning. I still have a little stickiness from where they were that wont come off.
And yes I look damn sexy in my eye shields and big black sunglasses. If I was 80 years old I would fit right in with my sunglasses. |

Im sure you can get it for cheaper, but when it comes to living with your eyes the rest of your life do you really want to go cheap or go to a reputible Doctor? The doctor I went to has done Tiger Woods, Vijhay Sighn (sp?), Patrick Ewing, Brad Johnson among the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
Plus that price is for a life time of enhancements if you need it. Well worth the $$$ |

My father-in-law had the procedcure done a few years ago, with some not uncommon complications afterwards, mostly related to night vision -- blurring, halos around light sources, etc. On the whole, he's satisfied with the results, but it certainly wasn't 100% effective.
He had the following observation when I discussed the surgery with him: "What if you were told you there was a device that could correct your vision. This device didn't require any surgery, had no significant recovery time, and was affordable. It could also be easily adjusted as your vision changed with age. Would you be interested? Well, they do make such a device, and it's called glasses." Glasses aren't great, but I think I'll keep mine until LASIK has advanced a bit more... Glad yours went so well. |
