DJ, Like you I just moved to San Francisco, but I'm just a 1-2 NL player online so 5-5-10 NL isn't quite what I'm looking for. Is there a casino in the Bay Area that spreads a good 2-5 NL game, as opposed to that spread-limit [censored] that they offer at Lucky Chances? [/ QUOTE ] A friend of mine has been advocating the 2-5NL at casino san pablo, sounds like a regular 500 max buyin game. check out the bay area poker wiki, it has pretty good info on all the games in the area. (although that particular game isnt listed for some reason) |

Have you played the 2-3-5 joke game at LC? I think it's actually softer than the old 2-3-5 no limit, because people STILL haven't adjusted correctly to the $200 max bet. Still I hope it goes back b/c it hurts my brain. [/ QUOTE ] Yea I played it once... hated it. Spread limit can eat my ass. (I also lost a fair bit because I bluffed too much, but I stand by spread limit eating my ass) |

[ QUOTE ] Quote: an old man in the one seat opens in EP for $180 in a kill pot. Thats a little too much for my crappy hand, but he gets a few callers. The flop comes 954 with 2 spades, and he open-shoves like a thousand or so. First caller folds, second one snap-calls. Turn 5, river 3. Old guy flips 32o, El D working on his shania... [/ QUOTE ] Nah this dude was old and white. Presumably not el d. [ QUOTE ] I think I want to move to San Francisco. And Simpsons season 2>>>>>>>Season 1 [/ QUOTE ] Yea that was another beat, Target didnt have season 2 for some reason. meh. [ QUOTE ] The floorman at Lucky Chances told me that they will be spreading 10-20NL no cap starting in January. Some law passed or something, but I didn't really pay attention bc he was fat. [/ QUOTE ] I too have heard things about LC spreading real NL next year. I wonder how good the game will be, but at the same time I can't help but think that the players at AJs are bad partially because they dont adjust correctly to their own weird blind/kill structure. [/ QUOTE ] I played in their 2-3-5 spread game and those are the players that will be playing in the 10-20NL game. They were horrible so it should be very juicy. There was this one old guy who bought in for 20k and from what the regulars tell me, he does this every time. You should buy in for that and take the old man's life savings. |

Much hinges on what type of bicycle you were working with.

Why didn't you raise the flop when you hit the nut straight to protect against set or two pair or scare cards (like the one that came) that could kill your action?
