instacall, Mike is capable of showing ridiculous bluffs. IF you were betting the whole way, wouldn't he wait for you to bet again? From the tone of your post it sounds like he had you beat.

In response to other posters who think he is a winning player, it has to be a different Mike. He is a rich gambling fish IMO

I would call here, I mean unless this guy loves this line with his monsters where he plays passively up until the river and then makes a river donk bet at the end of it. Not many people follow this pattern so I would call.

The fact that I've had opinions of raise, call, or fold from different people, as well as different people's opinion of villain shows that it was a reasonable hand to post.

If villain had checked the river, wouldn't you have bet 1k (or similar amount) anyway?

[/ QUOTE ]
So if you gonna bet you should call?
Horrible.

Snap call tho.

[/ QUOTE ]

Your post is confusing. How does him leading the river make this so different than you value betting the same amount if checked to? I mean, based on reads raising is whatever but how can folding to the same amount you would have bet yourself getting this price horrible logic?

Ive played vs this guy before why is no one raising here?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think a raise is a mistake. If he has trip 4S OR AT, he isn't folding. If he has junk then he is folding. We probably only get called if we are beaten.

What are we hoping to get paid off with Ace rag? Aj, AQ?

At the time I felt like a big fish for paying this off. I just had one of those feelings like he had AT or a slowplayed Full House. I called, he had AT. It's a bit reasurring that the general consensus says I did the right thing.

I've never played against the guy before, but a raise definitely seems like a horrible idea to me, mainly because of the fact that you're not going to get called by worse hands enough of the time. You win the pot often enough to justify a call, so I think you did fine.
