[ QUOTE ] the time to c/r that AQ is on the turn. [/ QUOTE ] Absolutely. As played the river is a c/f. I cant see what is going to bet the river that will fold to a c/r. It just seems too weird. Especially if the players know each other AK would fold, but who says it bets... JT [/ QUOTE ] Would AK fold? In practice, I don't think there is much difference between AK and 88 once facing a check-raise. |

i think both those hands have to seriously consider folding facing 4 bet preflop, bet flop, c/r turn. too much strength. |

[/ QUOTE ] I usually take a stop-and-go river check raise more seriously than a stop-and-go turn check raise, because the stop part of the stop-and-go is a more natural play on the river. |

Really? Obviously your play needs to be balanced. But a SNG flop to turn gains you a SB over 3-betting the flop whereas a SNG turn to river gains you nothing and potentially costs you a lot if they check behind on the river. Seems like the former would be more natural for a big hand, therefore.

I'm thinking about what is better for a weak or average hand, since that's what you'll have more often than not. These hands should be check-calling or check-folding a lot more often on the river than they do on the turn. |

What do you gain by check raising. He calls with everything that is beating you except maybe AK and folds everything you are betting (except maybe AJ, or A 10). I call.
I like the turn and flop plays. I might have lead at the river again. |
