Default Re: Why is Vanessa Rousso always blabbing about game theory?

BTW she is a complete fish at cash games given the way she played that hand. That's the kind of play I find rare even from drunks a 4am.

Rousso is simply a statistical out lier on the luck curve. Anyone that's taken any statistics will understand this. However the more hands she plays, the more she will regress towards the mean which is clearly loser. You won't see or here much more from this lady in another year unless Chad Brown continues giving her buyin money. Glad she's getting a law degree b/c she needs to stick with that. She has zero long term future in poker.

Seriously, in that hand, how does Clownie not bet out or check raise the flop? How does Rousso call the turn bet after she was called on the flop, then bet into on the turn when the 5 made no draw and hit no draw? I won't even get to the river action because it is just so painful to even comprehend.

Can't the concept of game theory be thoroughly described in a single paragraph? Or is there more to it that I'm not aware of?

She studied it in college? They gave her credit for it!?

[/ QUOTE ]

Did most of my undergraduate degree in game theory/comp science

Miss Rousso does not espouse the fundamentals very well

Also doing my masters thesis now on game theory and online poker

BTW make no mistake about it, Rousso is good for poker. It shows that even a total clueless donk can wind up winning. Long term she'll give it all back and anything else she has left. Short term just a good looking blonde "game theory" expert. And understand why poker stars likes her type. She is gonna attract the rank amateur fish. "If she can win I know I can" thing.

I played against "Bob" at Venetian. He likes to push people all in with draws and managed to hit his flush against my top two. All this at a 2-5 table. LOL. (He normally plays higher)

She's even publicly stated she's a donkament player. Obviously she has no idea how to play cash games.

Tournaments are a different strategy but it also shows just how much weaker tournament players are.

Flat calling it on the flop with a player behind is fine at least sometimes, she DID bet out on the turn, and while the 5 didn't finish any draws, there are many cards that could hit the river that kill action for either/both of them, and the river, and how losing your pot-sized stack on a river "blank" is "too painful to even comprehend" is beyond me.

I don't think Clonie is a very good poker player, but her play here is fine.

I have never seen that other video before. Did she seriously just bet $5k into a $30k plus pot?
Also, I wish Brandon had not flipped his cards over before seeing her hand. He saved her *some* embarrassment there. Also let her get away with that disappointed look on her face like she just got coolerd or something.
