October 2006 - Goals Thread!

I love these threads.

I plan to deposit 500 dollars online, and play 25nl, and take shots at 50nl. My goal is to get into some sort of routine, and force myself to play a decent amount of hands for the month.

For reference. What do you guys consider to be an decent amount of hands per month, say playing 2 tables, 25-30 hrs a week? What would be considred average in terms of number of hands played?

I ask because I have been playing live for the most part, and I go by measuring in terms of hours not hands played.

My goal is to get myself accustomed to the online style of play(i.e. PT, hud, graphs, multi-tabling, etc.), and start building a bankroll.

I also would like to establish myself here in the micro stakes forum, and really focus on strategy, and improving my own game, as well as hopefully helping others. Meaning post more hands, and reply to more hands.

Yesterday, I tilted. I moved up limits because I was tilting. I lost my entire month's winnings.

I think I have a fear of success. Meh, it's only a months grinding. Please change my title: Tilt Whore.

October - good solid poker. Learn how to play O8 a bit better. These games are getting juicer by the month.

I spent the last week of Sept bonus whoring blackjack to actually build a real poker BR. Oct will be the month I stop playing 10NL for giggles and actually focus on crushing it. With an eye to move up to 25NL in Nov.

Goals:

- play > 5k hands
- stop lurking and actually post hands I need help with
- don't get too excited when I hit a hand
- learn to check behind on the river (ie: think about what hands will call my river bets)
- read more books

60k hands this month (I was planning on 75k but I am going on vacation in a few weeks)

Get my PT BB/100 = to 0 or more. (only played 10K hands with poker tracker, but it bothers me to be in the red)

Play at least 20K hands so I have a real sample size.
