I do not see how you can fold this....maybe he does have a full house but why doesn't he bet the turn? Wouldn't he think he could extract more money from you with a turn bet and get it all in on the river? I like a check/call on the river if you really think he could have 99 or 88.

doc, you sound like you potted the river so you could get away if he pushes, a pretty horrible reason to do so.
villains range is pretty polar at this point, so what exactly does potting it accomplish, other than even further polarizing yours and villains ranges to the point to where if he calls you you coolered him, and if he raises, he coolered you? i think when you bet a more standard stabby amount he a) finds curious calls with crappy hands and b) finds a pretty mandatory value raise with lower flushes |

Strange hand. He can only seem to have 88 if he's ahead of you, as pretty much everything else usually bets the turn.
I don't like the size of your river bet at all. What exactly do you think he has that calls that size of a bet? I can't tell if you're more likely to have a flush or a boat given preflop/flop action. Would you raise 88 or 99 on the flop? |
