I had same problem last month. I googled for an answer then and found it in on some random forum. I can't seem to find it again now, but I found this instead: http://forums.techguy.org/multimedia...ware-not.html?

[censored] itunes, use winamp
winamp.com has a nice ipod plugin and works great, also doesn't take up 500% of your memory |

Re: easy $20 on ftp for first person who can tell me how to fix itunes
I had this same problem when I installed a program called Daemon Tools: a program that installs a virtual CD Drive into the computers memory, useful for playing games on your PC that you don't have the actual disc for but have the entire disc image saved on your hard drive. Once that was installed, itunes went cold and couldn't locate my DVD drive and kept saying "Disc burner or software not found". For days I couldn't fix it, even after uninstalling daemon tools and reinstalling itunes. Finally I read about an addon to daemon tools that upgrades the SCSI connection and fixes the itune bug. it's called SPTD v1.50 X86 and it's at this site: http://disc-tools.com/download/daemon+sp... It worked like a charm for me and I hope that it works for you. (there are two versions on this site 32 and 64 bit editions. I used the 32 bit one.) I am on a PC and running Windows XP. If you're running Windows Vista then I found this bit at iLounge: "The issue appears to be with the 64-bit version of Windows Vista (and XP apparently), and the fact that a version of the third-party driver that iTunes uses to burn CDs and DVDs will not interact correctly with 64-bit OSes. This is characterized by an Error code 2380 when you run CD/DVD diagnostics in iTunes. The third party driver is known as gearsec.exe, and the solution is to download the correct 64-bit version, direct from GearSoft: http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/driv... Once I installed it, everything worked fine. Didn't even need to reboot!" |

Oh please, I would've jacked up the margins beyond recognition if I really wanted to ruin this. There is an nice message concealed in there too.

[ QUOTE ]
If you're actually paying for music in this day and age I lol @ you. [/ QUOTE ] This post seriously makes me angry. How about artists nowadays have to play poker to pay the bills because their royalties can't buy them food? Not willing to pay a couple of bucks for the music you love... cheap ass. |

Re: easy $20 on ftp for first person who can tell me how to fix itunes
You do realize that most of the money you pay for a CD or whatever doesn't even go to the artist, right?
It goes to the huge multi-billion dollar a year music industries who hamper the creativity of artists everywhere by having a standard. I have supported independent artists by donating money. If you want to be mad at someone because the artists aren't getting enough money, be angry at the music industry. |
