[ QUOTE ]
To be honest it could be a good fold but I cant lay this down. [/ QUOTE ] It's not a "good" fold even if he has AA, JJ or 88. |

i dont play this tourney much, but similar things happen in live MTT's all the time. People will push with 88-AA, AJ, and even air hands like AK and AQ. You have to wonder if he has a set, but if he does, why would he PUSH into you?
I think your Kings are good most of the time here. |

I think the writer who explained it mathematically from harrington perspective has it correct. THat is what i was thinking as i read the post. i was assigning percentages to the hands he could have and is now pushing.
88: 0 jj: 15 aa: 40 qq: 40 aj:5 given that range you have to call bc the pot odds. when i play small money stngos i get lectured alot for seemingly "stupid calls" like calling a guys reraise allin w q 10 suited. what they dont understand is im calculating my % chance of winning vs the money in the pot and what portion of my stack i have to commit knowing im behind. then they call me an idiot when i suk out and i laugh and rake in the pot. so your instincts are possibly right but your decision was wrong based on the math. |
