How long ago was this/how old are you now? Very good read btw, thanks for posting. [/ QUOTE ] I served time from January 3rd, 2000 to January 3rd, 2001. It was followed by a year parole--group meetings on substance abuse, random piss cups (drug tests), and progress checks. I'm 27 now.

Mt2tr,
How often would you and other inmates discuss the crimes you did to get into prison? Did you know of anyone you genuinely though of as innocent?

[/ QUOTE ] very rarely would it be discussed in specific terms, just general I was in for 'drugs.' That's about all anyone ever shared. Opening up with each other is a mistake. I never even shared where I lived or family members, etc. Although, everyone realized I had a girlfriend because other inmates receiving visits witnessed mine with her and they'd give me compliments about her looks. I know of no one who I genuinely thought was innocent.

how was it going from being a GHB addict to getting arrested? i know that GHB screws with your gaba levels (much like benzos) and so it couldn't have been fun knowing you were going to prison and your anxiety must have been sky-high.
also, did you ever even remotely consider either killing yourself or fleeing the country at any point in time? (prior to the actual imprisonment)

What movie/TV show in your opinion is the most realistic in its portrayal of prison life. What is the most common misconception about prisons that people have.
